At a special meeting held on September 25, 2020, shareholders of Asta Funding, Inc. (ASFI) met to consider and voted on the acquisition of the company by Asta Finance Acquisition, Inc. The merger was approved and became effective prior to the market open on September 29, 2020. In anticipation of the closing, the stock was halted immediately following the after-hours session at 8 p.m. on September 28, 2020 and will remain halted on the day of closing (September 29th).
