How are the System Events changing?
Effective Monday, May 20, 2013,, NASDAQ OMX® will disseminate two new System Events on the NLS, PLS and BLS data feeds.
Start of System Hours (Event Code 'S'): Indicates that NASDAQ is open and ready to start accepting orders.
End of System Hours (Event Code 'E'): Indicates that NASDAQ is now closed and will not accept any new orders for the trading day.
Please Note: The NLS Plus data feed currently disseminates the aforementioned System Event messages and is not affected by this release.
How is the Trade Control Number changing?
In addition, effective May 20, 2013, the Trade Control Number on the NLS Plus data feed will be space-filled. Currently, this field is zero-filled on NLS Plus.
The Trade Control Number is available in the following messages:
- Trade Report (Message Type 'T')
- Trade Cancel/Error (Message Type 'X')
- Trade Correction (Message Type 'C')
The Trade Control Number is specific to the NASDAQ OMX host system reflected in the Originating Market Center ID field. NASDAQ OMX suggests that this field be stored as a string as some Trade Control Numbers contain alphabetic characters.
Please Note: The Trade Control Number is already space-filled on the NLS data feed.
Will testing opportunities be available?
Yes, NASDAQ OMX will offer a User Acceptance Test (UAT) on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Firms that would like to participate in the UAT should contact NASDAQ Trading Services or call +1 212 231 5180.
