Nasdaq Now Offers Additional Multicast Addresses for the Proprietary Equity and Options Data Feeds in Chicago

What you need to know:

Available now, Nasdaq offers additional multicast IP addresses for the proprietary equity and options data feeds in Chicago, known as the “Chicago B” Feeds.

Subscribers must complete the Nasdaq Data Feed Request Form (DFR) to gain access to the new "Chicago B" Feeds.

The "Chicago B" Feeds will not be disseminated on a handoff that also contains the original "Chicago A" data feeds. Please see below for additional details.


What is being announced?

As part of our continuing efforts to bring ample resiliency and recovery options to the industry, Nasdaq is introducing additional multicast IP addresses for proprietary equity and options data feeds in Chicago. Data disseminated from these new address will be known as the Chicago B feeds and will be published from a unique source range, independent of the source range of the original Chicago data feeds, now known as the Chicago A Feeds. This change allows firms the choice of having an additional redundancy option in Chicago to ensure data continuity.

  • Nasdaq NOIView 3.0
  • Nasdaq Pathfinders 1.1
  • Nasdaq MatchView 1.1
  • Nasdaq Net Order Imbalance Snapshot (NOIS) 2.2

Nasdaq BX (BX):

  • BX TotalView-ITCH 5.0
  • BX Best Bid and Offer (BX BBO) 2.1

Are data feed subscribers required to connect to the new addresses?

No, Nasdaq will not mandate data feed subscribers to access the Chicago B Feeds. Nasdaq is simply offering the new IP addresses as an option to improve market data subscribers’ redundancy and resiliency.

Is there an additional fee to gain access to the Chicago B Feeds?

While there is no additional direct market data charges, certain connectivity fees may apply. Please contact your Nasdaq Account Representative or +1 301 978 5307 for additional information.

Do interested Nasdaq direct data feed subscribers need to request access to the new 'Chicago B' data feeds?

Yes, in order to gain access to the new Chicago B Feeds, direct data feed subscribers will need to complete the Nasdaq Data Feed Request Form.

When requesting the new data feeds, subscribers must select “Chicago - 'B' Feed” in the Connectivity Options. In the comments section, subscribers must include the handoff over which they would like to receive the Chicago B feeds.

Please note: Nasdaq will not disseminate the new Chicago B feeds and the Chicago A feeds on the same handoff. Nasdaq Market Data Procurement will work with subscribers to determine the most efficient handoff to use for the Chicago B feeds.

When will the new IP addresses be made available?

The UDP/IP Address List on the Nasdaq Trader website now includes the IP addresses for the data feeds that have an associated Chicago B Feed. Please note, the Chicago B Feeds are only available for multicast subscribers.

What are the bandwidth recommendations for the Chicago B Feeds?

There is no change in the existing Bandwidth Recommendations for the new Chicago B Feeds.
