NASDAQ OMX to Disseminate New Russell Indexes on RussellTick Effective April 23, 2012

  • NASDAQ OMX®, on behalf of Russell Indexes, will begin disseminating the following new Russell indexes on Monday, April 23, 2012, on RussellTickTM:
  • Russell 1000 Value Net Return GBP (Symbol: RLVNETP)
  • Russell 1000 Value Total Return GBP (Symbol: RLVTRP)
  • Russell 2000 Growth Net Return GBP (Symbol: RUONETP)
  • Russell 2000 Growth Total Return GBP (Symbol: RUOTRP)
  • Russell 2000 Growth Net Return (Symbol: RUONET)
  • Russell 3000 Net Return GBP (Symbol: RUANRP)
  • Russell 3000 Total Return GBP (Symbol: RUATRP)
  • Russell 3000 Net Return EUR (Symbol: RUANRE)
  • Russell 3000 Total Return EUR (Symbol: RUATRE)

What are the new indexes?

The Russell 3000® Index measures the performance of the largest 3,000 U.S. companies representing approximately 98% of the investable U.S. equity market. The Russell 1000 and 2000 Indexes represent subsets of the Russell 3000. The new net and total return indexes in EURO and GBP are being launched to support the Russell U.S. Index family.

  • Growth indexes measure the growth segment of the U.S. equity universe, which represents companies that have higher growth earning potential as defined by Russell's leading style methodology.
  • Value indexes measure the value segment of the U.S. equity universe, which represents companies that are considered less expensive to the overall market, as defined by Russell's leading style methodology.
  • Net returns / values are calculated to provide applicable returns to foreign investors who are subject to a foreign tax withholding on dividends received.

How will the indexes be disseminated?

Effective Monday, April 23, 2012, data recipients will receive end-of-day index information from the proprietary RussellTick data feed.

NASDAQ OMX will identify these indexes via the following data elements in RussellTick:
