NASDAQ Will Complete Systems Integration in NASDAQ-Listed Securities on Monday, October 30, 2006

What you need to know:

  • As announced in Head Trader Alert #2006-150, NASDAQ will complete systems integration in NASDAQ-listed securities on Monday, October 30, 2006.
  • NASDAQ has scheduled a User Acceptance Test (UAT) for Saturday, October 28, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Eastern Time (ET).

What is the NASDAQ systems integration update?
As announced in Head Trader Alert #2006-150, NASDAQ® plans to conclude the systems integration of NASDAQ, Brut and INET in NASDAQ-listed securities on Monday, October 30, 2006.

How will this affect OATS reporting?
Please refer to the table for OATS reporting obligations, effective Monday, October 30, 2006:

Connectivity Type OATS Reporting Change
INET Connections All orders must be reported using the market center identifier “U”.

No MPID is required.

NASDAQ Market Center Connections No change — firms should continue to report market center identifier “U” for all securities.
Brut Connections No change — firms should continue to report market center identifier “E” and MPID “BRUT”.

When will NASDAQ hold the UAT?
NASDAQ will hold a UAT on Saturday, October 28, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., ET. If you wish to participate in this test of the integrated systems, please register by 4:00 p.m., ET, Friday, October 27th, in one of the following ways:

  1. Email your name and phone number to OpsQa@nasdaq.com.
  2. Call the NASDAQ Testing Facility (NTF) at 800.243.4284 (option #4).

What is the testing schedule?

Which stocks will be available for testing?
All NASDAQ-listed securities are scheduled to be migrated to the integrated system effective Monday, October 30th. The UAT will allow users to test all NASDAQ-listed stocks as migrated securities.

What functionality will be available for testing?
Full functionality for the integrated platform will be available for testing, including the NASDAQ Halt Cross.
