What you need to know:
- All firms must be in compliance with the Options Symbology Initiative (OSI) no later than February 12, 2010.

Do firms need to register for the upcoming Scripted Industry Test?
A Phase II Scripted Industry Test will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009. This test, similar to the November 14, 2009, test, will simulate a step in the consolidation process and subsequent trading and clearing using a combination of converted underlying symbols and classes and post-consolidation underlying symbols and classes. Firms are required to register for the test with The NASDAQ Options MarketSM (NOM) by December 9, 2009. Registration allows NOM to properly configure the registrant’s OSI-compliant interfaces in the NOM system.
A firm wishing to test with NOM on December 12th must register directly with the exchange even if the firm has already registered with The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC).
How do I register for the December 12th test?
Firms can register for testing in advance by contacting NASDAQ OMX Trading Services at +1 212 231 5180. Registration must be completed by December 9, 2009.
What is the Scripted Industry Test?
The Scripted Industry Test provides a testing arena in which Broker-Dealers, exchanges, utilities, and market data vendors can practice the overall OSI implementation prior to the February 12, 2010, launch date.

All of the NOM trading platform interfaces are affected by the OSI initiative:
