New CT Plan Seeking Advisory Committee Members

The Operating Committee for the new CT Plan is looking to solicit candidates to serve as representatives on the Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is comprised of professionals representing a wide swath of the financial ecosystem. The slots are from the following categories: (A) an institutional investor; (B) a broker-dealer with a predominantly retail investor customer base; (C) a broker-dealer with a predominantly institutional investor customer base; (D) a securities market data vendor that is not affiliated or associated with a Member, broker-dealer, or investment adviser with third-party clients; (E) an issuer of NMS stock that is not affiliated or associated with a Member, broker-dealer, or investment adviser with third-party clients; and (F) a Retail Representative.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

At a minimum, Advisors must be able to attend, in-person or via conference call, half-day meetings once a quarter. There are also some ad-hoc meetings throughout the year, especially for members of the subcommittees.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Per the standard established in the CT Plan; in order to be a representative of the categories above, ideal candidates would have:

  • extensive experience in the financial industry;
  • an in-depth knowledge of market data;
  • an in-depth knowledge of micro-market structure for U.S. equities; and
  • substantial responsibilities in connection with the operation of the broker/dealer, ATS, or data vendor that employs them.
